105m Project ESQUEL by Oceanco

The explorer superyacht that starts where other stop

During the opening of the 2019 Dubai Yacht Show, Oceanco created a new sensation in the superyacht industry by revealing its new concept: ESQUEL, a striking new 105-metre expedition yacht.  Designed by Timur Bozca and Gina Brennan, ESQUEL is created for adventurous owners looking to cruise the remotest regions of our planet in the comfort and safety expected from an Oceanco superyacht in a sub-5,000 GT package. Reputed in the yachting world for being across all boundaries, the Dutch yard proves once again its audacity. “ESQUEL is a meteorite found near Esquel, a Patagonian town in the Northwest part of the province of Chubut in Argentina. She is the perfect composite of solid metal andtranslucent crystals, an alluring combination found in a rare destination.” has explained the shipyard during its presentation. “Packed with advanced technology, features and assets, ESQUEL represents a new revolutionary type of multi-purpose superyacht. She represents a quest for life, without compromises.”  She is equipped with a sophisticated diesel-electric propulsion framework that is engineered by Lateral to deliver dependable green power no matter where the superyacht finds itself. With a range of 7,000nm at 13 knots, no destination is out of reach for this world explorer.

Sporting a displacement hull with a plumb bow, she has been designed for extensive cruising to remote regions extending from the North Pole to the South Pole and everywhere in between.  “My inspiration for Esquel was a space rocket,” explains Bozca. “While her lines are stately and chic, she is clearly a no-nonsense, high-tech, go- anywhere vessel that would be equally comfortable in the Med or in the Arctic Circle.” At home in Antarctica and equally at home in the Mediterranean, she offers the best of both worlds — a perfect blend between an expedition vessel and a sophisticated superyacht.  To allow her to safely cruise in polar regions, she has been designed with an ice-strengthened hull and Polar Classification. In addition, an advanced dynamic positioning system further reduces the vessel’s footprint by removing the need for an anchor in marine sensitive areas.  To match the ESQUEL’s extreme cruising capabilities, Timur Bozca and Gina Brennan created a true home-away-from-home vessel where guests can realistically and comfortably spend prolonged periods on away from civilisation. “While the exterior of the expedition yacht is very masculine and modern, the interior is stylish and warm with comfortable furniture to create the feeling of a home away from home,” says Brennan.

Her interior is stunning: as an example, the Master suite will have an expansive panoramic portal on the sea views as well as a lounge area with fireplace. Guest staterooms will be equally inviting and quietly luxurious. The communal spaces offer multiple options for mealtime, with inside and outside dining and lounging. Spa/wellness area with gym, yoga room, and steam, sauna, plunge pool and hot tub are also included in the layout. The main deck salon has a large dining table adjacent to the living room, which offers convivial groupings of sofas and overstuffed chairs for either casual conversation or scientific meetings. A central fireplace services the formal areas, casual spaces, and reading nooks. For a family, who wants their children to be home schooled onboard and to experience the remote corners of the globe first hand, Esquel will provide the quintessential classroom — a library filled with real books as well as state-of-the art technology to provide online connectivity whatever the position on the globe, allowing instruction and education from afar.

With green consideration and impressive sea capabilities, ESQUEL is announced as one of the groundbreaking superyacht project of 2019.
