Imperial supports the London to Monaco cycle ride

Winch Design in conjunction with their long standing charity partner, BLUE Marine Foundation, is launching the first London to Monaco cycle charity ride: Imperial is proud to support this very first edition and the Andrew Winch cycle team. BLUE is an organization which works to solve the crisis in the oceans, providing innovative solutions to overfishing, enabling the creation of marine reserves: a topic that deserves all attention.

Starting from the historic Tower of London and riding across Tower Bridge on Sunday 18th September, over 40 people will join the 1500km cycle ride, arriving in Monaco ten days later on the eve of the Monaco Yacht Show 2016, where they will be greeted by HSH Prince Albert of Monaco II. The attention remains firmly on the cause the cyclists are riding for –extensive marine conservation and regeneration led by BLUE. The ride aims to raise the profile and awareness of BLUE. In an unprecedented move, Winch Design will bring everyone from major brokers, shipyards, law firms and media into one arena and compete in an epic ride from London to Monaco. We are proud to support

Funds raised from the ride will go towards two projects that will contribute significantly to ocean protection. The beautiful Aeolian Islands to the north of Sicily, which are being threatened by overfishing and irresponsible tourism; and the remote island of Ascension in the tropical Atlantic, home to some of the biggest fish in the world, sharks, turtles and rare sea birds, which was being plundered by long-line fishing.

We wish all the best to the riders of this first edition of the London to Monaco race, and we looking forward to congratulating all of them on Tuesday, 27th of September at the final arrival in Monaco. Show your support to BLUE by making a donation here:
