The 2017 Monaco Yacht Show also included some exciting surprises: Wally and Nobiskrug announced during the show their partnership in the development and building of displacement and custom steel megayachts. The two reputable brands are forming a partnership to develop and construct a range of displacement yachts and custom steel megayachts. Their first project is a stunning 83-metre explorer concept developed by Wally on the Nobiskrug platform, with interiors by Andrew Winch. This 83-metre explorer design is currently confidential, but it is understood that the upper deck will offer two swimming pools. The rest of the deck will be left bare, as a multi-purpose space for entertaining, dining and toy storage. On-board, she includes an upper-deck owner’s cabin with its own private terrace overlooking the aft deck, as well as a side-loading tender garage in the bow. “Collaborating with Wally has always been a dream of Andrew’s, and this year it has come true,” commented Winch Design. Andrew Winch added "It is great fun and a great honour to work with Luca Bassani. This has been a dream of mine ever since I saw the first Wallygator. This project has been a bit like a snowball rolling – it has come together very quickly." “Combining skills and experience from both our companies, we look forward to a close and successful collaboration. We share the vision of providing our superyacht customers with innovative technology combined with the very best yacht-building quality, and this will be the main drive for our cooperation,” commented Holger Kahl, Managing Director of Nobiskrug. “Wally and Nobiskrug finalised this important partnership to create an unprecedented synergy in the industry: the best technology and production capacity for Nobiskrug’s mega and giga yachts, combined with Wally’s indisputable talent for innovation,” announces Luca Bassani, Wally President, adding “We are very proud that Nobiskrug selected Wally to innovate the mega yacht market, and Wally is keen to offer the best building opportunity for its one-of-a-kind projects. Nobiskrug is known for their strength in the engineering and indisputable manufacturing quality of large steel superyachts, and this partnership will strategically complement our business portfolio”, concludes Bassani. The partnership between Wally and Nobiskrug will allow owners and their representatives to engage with only one company, able to leverage the unique know-how of both companies. Furthermore, the highly professional and competent team is able to satisfy every request of the highly exclusive superyacht market. This strategic partnership strengthens the relationship between Wally and Nobiskrug while creating new opportunities on the superyacht market.
