Discover the Imperial Delivered Projects fleet
Sinot Yacht Design & Architecture, esteemed partner of Imperial who is currently involved in the striking 77m superyacht prokect BLACK SHARK, is once again previewing their Monaco Yacht Show presence this year with a radical new superyacht concept in the form of the 112-metre hydrogen superyacht AQUA, powered by a fully-operational liquid hydrogen and fuel cell technology system. Developed for forward-thinking owners, AQUA is putting it on the cutting edge of what is possible at sea today. The hydrogen propulsion package is based on the use of liquified hydrogen, which is stored at -253C degrees in two 28 ton vacuum isolated tanks. Hydrogen is converted into electrical energy by proton exchange membrane fuel cells, with the generated energy powering the propulsion, auxiliary systems and hotel services. Water is the only by product of the system, which also sees large batteries buffer the generated electricity. The result is a top speed of 17 knots, cruising speed of 10-12 knots and range of 3750 nautical miles.
“For development of AQUA we took inspiration from the lifestyle of a discerning, forward-looking owner, the fluid versatility of water and cutting-edge technology to combine this in a 112m superyacht with truly innovative features.” says Sander Sinot. “Our challenge was to implement fully operational liquid hydrogen and fuel cells in a true superyacht that is not only groundbreaking in technology, but also in design and aesthetics.” Inspired by the ocean, AQUA’s curvaceous exterior lines flow from the stern across a 360-degree viewing capsule and wheelhouse and gather at the bow area where a spectacular Aqua room gives guests views never before experienced at sea in ultimate luxury. The bulk of the guest areas are located forward in the ship where the largest volume culminates as the yacht tapers down aft towards the beach club. The aft deck features a grand staircase and central waterfall that creates an immediate wow factor when boarding at the stern. Accommodation is for a total of 14 people and 31 crew.
One of the key features of AQUA remains her high ceilings ranging from 2,8 to 3,8 metres : it immediately creates an open living experience with full-height windows lining the main pavilion area for an uninterrupted visual encounter. The full 15.4 metre beam Owner’s “pavilion” occupies the front half of the upper deck and comes with a large bathroom, dressing room and private spa section. A naturally-lit VIP suite located at the waterline near the stern is decorated in a detailed minimalist Japanese beach style that matches the interior throughout AQUA. With health and wellness at its core, Aqua also carries her own hydro-massage room, yoga space and expansive workout area at water level.
Having displayed a scale mode during the Monaco Yacht Show 2019, Sinot Yacht Design & Architecture expects now to pair this fantastic project with a forward-thinking client ready to meet their vision.
