Built by Amels and strictly supervised by Imperial, EVENT was worldwide unveiled during the 2013 Monaco Yacht Show. First hull of the futuristic Amels 199 Limited Edition line, EVENT was acclaimed for her extraordinary shape which completely destroyed all the yachting industry codes, including more design and striking general lines. Her scimitar bow, among her main characteristic, is undoubtedly linked with her glory.
Without surprise, EVENT won the World Superyacht Award 2014 trophy in her category, with superlatives that are well deserved: “The Displacement Motoryacht 500 GT to 1,299 GT contained several new and inspiring yachts that the judges found most interesting. When it came to the vote, it was clear that one yacht had made an especially strong impression, with 90 per cent of the judges awarding her first place and the remainder placing her second – a remarkable achievement. This yacht was Event, a 60-metre built by Amels with exterior design by Tim Heywood and an interior by Laura Sessa. The judges were particularly impressed with the yacht’s contemporary exterior styling complemented by her attractively modern interior, while the quality of the build was beyond reproach. The general arrangement of the yacht, with tenders stowed within the bow, excellent deck spaces and exemplary owner facilities also received high praise.”
Imperial and Amels are very proud to have launched such a state-of-the-art like EVENT, and this confirm the strong partnership linking one of the most attractive Dutch designer with the most competitive company of the industry.
